In pictures: Siberian forest fires rage
A state of emergency was declared in the Irkutsk region of Siberia on Thursday, where forest fires have destroyed over 40 homes in the village of Borovoye.
There were no reported casualties. Residents were evacuated and are being housed at a local school and cultural centre.
About 54,000 hectares are ablaze across Siberia and the Russian Far East
Nearly the entire village of Borovoye was destroyed
No human casualties but this sheep was nearly roast mutton
Chimneys were all that remained of most residences
If the fires are not brought under control, more villages may be lost
The efforts of the fire-fighters could not save this woman's home
