The body of Paul Mainwaring, 46, who lived locally, was discovered with tightly bound hands and feet by a diver carrying out routine maintenance in the river last Friday. On Monday, Daniel Britel, 20, from Waunarlwydd, was remanded in custody charged with perverting the course of justice and assisting with the removal and disposal of Mr Mainwaring's body. He is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 21 May. A woman who was arrested after Mr Mainwaring's body was found has been released questioned and released on police bail.
He is from the Gorseinon area of Swansea and was described as having large build with light brown hair. A post mortem examination on the body carried out at the city's Singleton Hospital by a Home Office pathologist has proved inconclusive.
