BBC confirms Price memorial
Christopher Price
Christopher Price was a rising star at the BBC
Family and friends will join together to celebrate the life of BBC presenter Christopher Price a special memorial event.

The event is being held on 25 May, the same day as the Eurovision Song Contest, which he was due to commentate on.

Fans of the Liquid News presenter also have the opportunity to attend the celebration, which will now take place at a London restaurant.

But they must apply for official invitations at the Liquid News website to be allowed in.

Price was found dead in his London flat in April as he was due to go on air to present his entertainment news show on digital channel BBC Choice.

A post mortem examination proved inconclusive, but police are not treating the 34-year-old's death as suspicious.

The funeral was held on 8 May and was attended by a host of celebrities including former Brookside actress Claire Sweeney, Royle Family star Ralf Little and BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles.

Moving tributes

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue sent flowers along with a touching message saying she was happy to have met him.

Guests were asked to donate money to Price's favourite charity Crusaid, which raises money on behalf of people living with HIV and Aids.

Thousands of fans left moving tributes to the rising star on the BBC Choice message board.

Price started his career as a journalist in BBC local radio, moving to Radio Five Live and News 24 before joining BBC Choice.

Liquid News - an irreverent look at entertainment news - was being lined up to become one of the leading programmes on the proposed digital channel BBC Three.
