Interior of house
The pair were trapped in a bedroom
A woman and a child have been rescued from a burning house in Londonderry.

The woman, who is in her 30s, and the six-year-old girl were trapped in a bedroom at their home in Florence Street in Rosemount when the fire broke out on Friday morning.

They were rescued by firefighters using breathing apparatus.

The woman and child were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

It is uncertain how the fire started, but it is believed to have been accidental.
