Inquiry over burned body find
Burnt car
The car was found at an isolated spot
Police are to carry out DNA tests on a badly-burned body found in a car in Derbyshire.

The Vauxhall Nova had been abandoned for several days on moorland near Buxton before the discovery by a breakdown man trying to tow the vehicle away.

Detectives say the victim is white and aged 25 to 45 but the remains are so badly burned identification has so far proved impossible.

Police have appealed to race-goers for information
Derbyshire Police are treating the death as suspicious and have sealed off the surrounding area to conduct a search.

Detective Superintendent John Langley of Derbyshire Police said: "It's a mystery."

"At the moment the cause of death is inconclusive.

"However, given all the circumstances we have to treat this as suspicious."

He asked for people who went to motorbike meetings at the nearby Highedge race track to come forward with information.

"There was a meeting on Sunday and Monday at the local race track so there were a lot of people in that area.

"There would also be hill walkers and other people going about their business."
