Caravan baby found unharmed
Police take the baby away
John was found on his great-grandmother's doorstep
A four-week-old boy who was inside a caravan stolen in Nottinghamshire is spending the night in the care of social services.

John Flynn triggered a nationwide hunt after going missing when the caravan was towed away from a travellers' site.

He was later left on the doorstep of his great-grandmother's house in Wolverhampton.

The infant is expected to be reunited with his mother Bridget Flynn on Thursday.

Family fear

Police confirmed on Wednesday they were questioning three men after finding the missing caravan on the A500 near Barthomley in Cheshire.

The search had begun after Miss Flynn and father Michael Connors raised the alarm at about 0425 BST on Wednesday.

Stolen caravan
The caravan was found without John inside
Miss Flynn, 19, had gone out for a cigarette leaving John alone in the caravan at the site on the A611 near Hucknall.

"I came back and the van had gone. I was beside myself. Oh God I was so worried for my baby."

The caravan was found at about 0700 BST on Wednesday but it was not until later that day that reports of John's discovery came in.

The infant's grandmother, Nelly Connors, said: "We had a call from little John's great-grandmother, Margaret, to say that he had been dropped off at her house.

"Whoever stole the caravan must have known the family and realised who John was.

"They must have taken him to Wolverhampton."
