Are we letting the most vulnerable down?
New government research shows up to a quarter of teenagers with mental health problems are receiving inappropriate care. On PM we ask why.
Unpublished research, commissioned by the government and seen by BBC News suggests that up to a quarter of teenagers who have severe mental health problems are receiving care on the NHS which their own doctors describe as inappropriate.
The warning comes as a UN Conference describes the growing problem of teenage mental illness as a ticking timebomb, which could place health services at breaking point. For PM our health correspondent Chris Hogg reports To hear the report click on the audio link above. |
