Caravan baby found unharmed
Police take the baby away
John was found on his great-grandmother's doorstep
A four-week-old boy who was inside a caravan stolen from a Nottinghamshire travellers' site has been found safe and well.

Baby John Flynn had been left on the doorstep of his great-grandmother's home in Wolverhampton.

Earlier, police confirmed they were questioning three men after finding the missing caravan on the A500 near Barthomley in Cheshire.

Officers had launched a nationwide hunt for the child after his parents, Michael Connors and Bridget Flynn, raised the alarm at about 0425 BST on Wednesday.

Family 'happy'

The baby's aunt, Carolyn Flynn, 21, said the child was found on the doorstep of his elderly relative's home on Wednesday morning.

"We are all very happy.

"We were all beside ourselves but he is okay.

"He is being checked out by the doctor this afternoon."

His great-grandmother remained inside the house in the Low Hill area of the city with the baby.

John's mother was due to fetch him from Wolverhampton on Wednesday afternoon.

The caravan had been found at about 0700 BST, with baby clothing inside.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: "Three men who were with the vehicle are helping police with their inquiries and have been taken to Crewe police station."

The child was alone in the caravan which was taken from a travellers' site on the A611 near Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.
