Funeral of 'van theft' driver
Jason Weaver
Jason Weaver died in hosptial after the incident
The funeral has taken place on Wednesday of a south Wales delivery driver who was killed when he was allegedly run over by his own van.

Father-of-two Jason Weaver, who was from Pontypridd, died at the University Hospital of Wales last month after suffering head and chest injuries in the incident near Caerphilly.

It is alleged Mr Weaver, 36, was fatally injured trying to recover his van after it was taken from a Caerphilly shopping centre.

Two men have been charged with attempted murder in connection with his death.

The Federal Express driver suffered two punctured lungs, head injuries, broken ribs and injuries to his lower back, pelvis, hip and thigh in the incident.

He died on Sunday 14 April.

Mr Weaver was a former finalist in his company's driver-of-the-year contest.

At a police news conference following his death, his friend and work colleague, John McKeown, described him as an "exceptional individual" who would help anyone.

An inquest was opened last week but Cardiff Coroner Dr Lawrence Addicott adjourned the hearing while inquiries continue into the tragedy.

The funeral was held at St Dyfrig's Roman Catholic Church in Treforest, Pontypridd, at 1245 BST.
