Kennedy nephew on trial for murder
The trial has begun in the United States of a member of the powerful Kennedy family, Michael Skakel, who is accused of a murder which took place 27 years ago. Mr Skakel is the nephew of Ethel Kennedy Skakel, the widow of the former US Attorney-General, Robert Kennedy. He has denied beating a neighbour, Martha Moxley, to death in the American state of Connecticut in 1975, when they were both aged 15. The victim's mother has campaigned to solve the killing ever since. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
