Pakistan jails French woman
A court in Pakistan has sentenced a French woman to five years in jail for drug trafficking. Yamina Kaidi, 19, was arrested at Karachi international airport in March with over three kilograms of hashish as she was about to board a flight to Spain. The judge also gave Ms Kaidi an eight-hundred dollar fine. Lawyers say she has the right to appeal. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
