Pakistan leader wants US out
A senior religious leader in Pakistan has objected to what he describes as joint army operations between America and Pakistan in semi-autonomous tribal areas bordering Afghanistan. Qazi Hussain Ahmed, who's the head of the Islamic Jamaat-i-Islami party, says local tribes people resent the interference of American soldiers and Pakistani paratroopers in their area. Pakistan's government has consistently denied the presence of American fighting troops, saying the few foreigners in the border region are not involved in combat operations.
