Three killed in Karachi attack

Unidentified gunmen have killed three people in a drive-by shooting in the Pakistani city of Karachi.

Police said those killed included a college principal , Professor Zaffar Mehdi, a Shia Muslim, his assistant and his driver.

They were travelling to work when the three assailants, riding on motorcycles opened fire on the car.

Police officials said they have not ruled out that this might have been a sectarian attack.

It follows an incident on Sunday when an activist from a Sunni religious party was shot dead in central Karachi.

More than 25 people have been killed in sectarian violence in Karachi so far this year.
