Prince William passes motorcycle test
Prince William
The prince can already drive a car
Prince William has passed his motorcycle test, St James's Palace has confirmed.

A spokesman said the teenager took the exam earlier this year, two years after passing his basic motorbike test.

Ever since the first test, the prince, currently a student at St Andrew's University in Scotland, has practised on his red Kawasaki 125cc bike at his father's Highgrove Estate in Gloucestershire.

Riders holding a basic licence can only drive bikes up to 125cc on public roads. When they pass the more advanced test they can ride more powerful vehicles.

Go-karting

The palace would not comment on reports that the Prince of Wales is concerned 19-year-old William wants to upgrade to a larger and faster machine.

Prince William passed his car driving test at the first attempt, just a day after his 17th birthday.

He had also used the quiet roads of Highgrove to practise for that challenge and went on to take and pass the advanced Pass Plus scheme.

At the age of 13 the prince beat Damon Hill's track record at a London go-karting centre.
