Gates denounces Microsoft penalties
	Bill Gates told US district judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly that the remedies demanded by nine states would set Microsoft's Windows operating system back by 10 years. Microsoft's chief counsel Brad Smith told the BBC it had been an "important day" in court for the firm.
