Helping the community cash in

As well as trying to save the people of Newcastle a millions pounds on the day, Cashing In will also be attempting to solve a local community cash crisis.

We'll be delving into the finances of a number of local projects and getting our experts to offer much needed professional advice.

Projects under consideration at the moment include:

  • The People's Theatre in Heaton - the group puts on around 14 plays a year, but they need advice on how to generate a regular income from their assets to keep them going throughout the year, and fund improvements and expansion plans.

  • We'll also be looking at two local playgroups - run by volunteers who desperately need to generate funds to keep their doors open for local pre-school children.

As well as offering much needed professional advice on keeping your community project afloat, Cashing In will explain how you can tap into grants and donations from businesses and organisations you might not have considered approaching.

Once again, the details of the day are:

Where: The Assembly Rooms, Fenkle Street, Newcastle.

When: Sunday 28 April, 9am-5pm

Why: Because we believe we can save the people of Tyneside over a million pounds!

If you have any particularly unusual issues you think we might find interesting, please contact us by e-mail at roadshow@bbc.co.uk.
