Hunt for child robbers
Mobile phone
The attackers stole their victim's mobile phone
Police are hunting a seven-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy who attacked and mugged another child in Cheltenham, stealing his mobile phone.

The attackers kicked and punched the victim, who is 11, before handing the phone to an older accomplice.

The attack took place on Friday as the victim was walking along a street with a friend.

Gloucestershire Police say they are treating the incident "very seriously" and have appealed for witnesses.

The victim was making a call on his phone when the attackers struck.

They kicked him to the ground before taking the phone which they handed to an older male who was waiting on a moped.

The girl is described as white, around seven years of age with black hair, and wearing a yellow t-shirt.

The male attacker is about 11, has short black hair and wore a t-shirt with grey and black stripes.

The rider of the moped is believed to be about 18.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: "We are treating this incident of robbery and assault very seriously.

"It was a completely unprovoked, very nasty attack which left an 11-year-old boy very shaken."
