Essex Police badge
Police have questioned a man over dangerous driving
Two teenage sisters have died and a third sister from the same family has been critically injured in a head-on collision between two cars.

Hollie Davis, 16, of Abbey Road, Barking, east London, died at the scene of the crash in Vange, near Basildon, Essex, on Sunday.

Her sister Shona, 18, a shop assistant, died in hospital on Monday while a third sister, aged in her late teens, is in a critical condition in hospital.

The Ford Fiesta driven by Shona Davis, collided with a Peugeot 605, whose driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Father-of-two

The accident also claimed the life of 32-year-old Wayne Crawley, of North Crockerford, Vange, one of three passengers in the Peugeot 605.

Police said Mr Crawley, who was unemployed and had a four-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son, was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

The collision occurred at 1730 BST on London Road as the Fiesta was travelling towards the A176 and the Peugeot towards Pitsea.

Police said the Peugeot driver, who has not been named but comes from Vange, has been released on police bail until 29 April.
