People have been asked to check their garden sheds
Police are searching for a 10-year-old boy who disappeared on Saturday afternoon.

Matthew Little vanished from his home in Cornlands, Norton, 20 miles east of York, at 1510 BST.

His family became worried when he failed to return in the evening and police began a search which has carried on overnight.

Matthew is four-feet tall with cropped blond hair and was wearing a light-coloured T-shirt and navy tracksuit bottoms.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "We are asking residents to check their gardens, garages and out-buildings for Matthew and for any signs of someone who may have been sleeping in them."

Anyone with information or who has seen Matthew should contact North Yorkshire Police on 01609 768000.
