Six kidnapped in Colombia

Police in Colombia say left-wing guerrillas have kidnapped at least six people in the southwest of the country.

A spokesman said the mayor of the town of Rosas and five other people were taken from their cars at a roadblock controlled by the rebels of the National Liberation Army, or ELN.

Correspondents say some 600 people have been kidnapped in Colombia since January.

Earlier, police in the city of Medellin said they had found an explosives factory belonging to the main Colombian rebel group, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia, or FARC.
