Indian CBI confirm massacre of Maoists
Police in India say they have found definite evidence of the killing of 11 Maoist rebels in a village in West Bengal last year, which had been denied by the regional government.

Media reports last January said a group of Maoist rebels had been killed in a village in the southern district of Mindnapore.

But the government of West Bengal maintained that no one was killed, and ruled out allegations of a massacre.

India's Central Bureau of Investigation has now issued a report, saying that DNA evidence from blood found in a house and in a vehicle confirms the Maoists were killed, although their bodies have not been found.
