Russia and India hold security talks
The senior Russian security official, Vladimir Rushailo, has held talks with his Indian counterpart, Brajesh Mishra in Delhi.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Mr Rushailo said the global fight against terrorism should be based on international law with a co-ordinating role for the United Nations and the Security Council.

He is due to meet the Indian Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, and hand him a message from President Vladimir Putin calling for greater co-operation in Asia.

Earlier this year Russia and India signed a number of military co-operation protocols and discussed a series of defence deals, including the sale to Delhi of Russian tanks and fighter planes.
