Twenty years ago, Britain went to war over one of its colonial territories, the Falkland Islands. Now another far-flung fragment of Empire is calling on the Government to stand up for its wish to remain British. The people of Gibraltar are vehemently against plans for joint sovereignty. So why isn't the Government listening? Peter Marshall reported from Gibraltar.

A tribute to the Queen Mother
The Queen Mother's coffin has been moved to the Queen's Chapel at St James's Palace. Her life spanning almost the entire twentieth century saw enormous changes to Britain. David Sells reported on the extent to which the Queen Mother's passing has made us hold up a mirror to ourselves, and revealed something about British society now.
