Man murdered at Telford home
Stephen Mark Adams
Mr Adams died shortly after the attack
Police in Shropshire have released details about the murder of a man in a "brutal and sustained" assault over the weekend.

Stephen Mark Adams, 39, was taken by ambulance from his home in Freeston Avenue, Telford, to the nearby Princess Royal Hospital shortly after midnight on Sunday morning.

He died six hours later from major injuries, believed to have been caused by a heavy weapon.

A postmortem examination showed Mr Adams died as a result of injuries sustained during the attack.

Detective Superintendent Clive Harding of West Mercia Police confirmed that a murder inquiry had been opened into Mr Adams' death.

Police are now searching for the weapon, most probably heavily bloodstained, used to hit Mr Adams.

They also believe more than one person may have been involved in the attack.

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have noticed visitors to Mr Adams' house on Saturday, or who saw anything suspicious in the St George's area.
