Iranian FM visits Moscow
The Iranian foreign minister, Kamal Kharrazi, is due to meet the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, in Moscow on Friday. Mr Kharrazi said that the talks would focus on economic co-operation. The two countries are involved in several projects together, including the construction of a nuclear power plant in Iran. Mr Kharrazi will also hold a meeting today with his Russian counterpart, Igor Ivanov, with whom he is expected to discuss security issues. Correspondents say Moscow's relationship with Tehran is a thorn in Russia's otherwise improved relationship with the United States. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
