Garden to good health
Scientists are to research what it is about gardening that's good for your health.

Loughborough University have been given a £320,000 National Lottery grant to look into 1,600 therapeutic projects around the UK.

Many people are referred by social services departments but an increasing number of GPs are recognising the benefits of gardening as therapy.

It builds confidence, increases self-esteem and it is also good exercise and a way to relax.

Some gardening experts think planting flowers and growing vegetables can help green fingered pensioners live longer!

David Foster, Chief Executive of Thrive, which co-ordinates therapeutic gardening projects, and Breakfast's Dr Rosemary Leonard will tell you more after 8.45 on today's programme.
