Police hunt post office robbers
Police light
Police said none of the workers were injured
Robbers have escaped with a five-figure sum of money from a post office, police have confirmed.

Three female workers, aged 20, 23 and 53, were working at the shop in Church Street, in Uddingston, Lanarkshire, when three men ran into the shop at around 0910 GMT on Saturday.

The men smashed the bandit screen with a blunt instrument, before stealing the money.

They then drove off in a red Vauxhall Cavalier car, Strathclyde Police said.

'Badly shaken'

The car was later found burnt out at the David Livingstone footbridge on Blantyre Mill Road, Bothwell.

Police believe the trio crossed the bridge to Station Road in Blantyre.

The raiders were all described as being around 6ft in height, of muscular build and wearing dark clothing and ski masks.

A police spokeswoman said none of the staff were injured but had been left "very badly shaken" by the incident.

Anyone with information should contact Hamilton CID on 01698 483 300 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
