Police say the pub would have been busy
Police have named the victim of a pub shooting in Greater Manchester.

Peter Clay, who came from Hyde, was found with gunshot injuries in the Clarendon pub in Market Street, Hyde, on Friday.

Officers were called to the pub just after 2300 GMT and found the 32-year-old who was then taken to hospital, but died a short time later.

Police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The pub was cordoned off on Saturday morning as scenes-of-crime officers carried out a search.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester police, said: "A man was found suffering from gun shot wounds.

"He was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

"We are appealing for witnesses to the incident in what we assume must have been a busy pub on Good Friday."
