Car thieves tie up victim in home
Police car
The victim was tied up by the gang
A man has been attacked by a gang who tied him up in his own home and then stole his car.

Police say the men struck just before 0000 GMT on Good Friday as the 53-year-old victim went out of his home in Deerhurst near Tewkesbury to put his car away.

Inspector Alex Drummond, of Gloucestershire police, said the man was knocked unconscious and then tied up.

The man has told officers he woke up a few hours later, managed to free himself and alert police.

Items stolen

The car taken was a metallic red Honda Accord, registration L818 VLC.

Police say the victim was not injured, although they believe he was knocked unconscious.

Several items were also taken from the house before the gang left in the car.

Mr Drummond said: "All the victim can remember is going out to his car and then coming to in the bedroom.

"We have had officers at the scene trying to piece together what happened in the middle.

"He says he woke up to find he'd been tied up with bedsheets.

"He then managed to free himself and raise the alarm."

Mr Drummond appealed for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Deerhurst area to contact police.
