Police revisit murder scene
The area had been cordoned off
Mr McClenaghan was murdered as he left a farmhouse
The police have made a fresh appeal for information after revisiting the area close to where a County Antrim pensioner was murdered a week ago.

Joshua McClenaghan, 65, died after being beaten about the head by a gang as he left a friend's house on Kilgavanagh Road, outside Antrim, on 22 March.

Police believe robbery was the motive behind the killing.

On Friday night - exactly a week after the killing - a police operation focused on roads close to the farmhouse.

Tied up

Police Inspector Raymond Murray said any information could be vital.

The police have said that as the victim tried to leave the house, the gang forced him back in and tied him up along with his 80-year-old friend.

They were both badly beaten about the head.

Mr McClenaghan died at the scene. His friend was taken to Antrim Area Hospital, but was later discharged.

The attackers escaped in his car - a red Peugeot 405.

'Unprovoked'

On Wednesday, mourners at Mr McClenaghan's funeral were told he was a "quiet bachelor" who had been the victim of a "savage murder".

Reverend George Preston said the victim was interested in his farm and his family, and had retained a concern for his neighbours.

He said Mr McClenaghan did not deserve to have died in such an "unprovoked" manner.

Mr McClenaghan was buried following a service at Connor Presbyterian Church in County Antrim.
