Ceremony remembers NI victims

A ceremony is being held in the Republic of Ireland on Friday to mark the deaths of all those killed during the Troubles.

The names of more than 3,600 people who died throughout the conflict in Northern Ireland will be read aloud at the service at Unitarian Church on St Stephen's Green in Dublin.

Chris Hudson, who helped organise the event, said the service was a simple act of remembrance.

"People like to come in for five minutes, 20 minutes, to just listen to some of the names being read out and to meditate on those names and to remember them in their prayers," he said.

"Also it is a chance for people in some way to commit themselves to see that what happened in the last 30 years in Northern Ireland is not repeated, that we don't slip into that again."
