Woman injured in train attack
An elderly woman has been injured when a window on the train she was travelling in was smashed with a rock in County Antrim.

The woman was showered with glass during the attack which happened on the Belfast to Portrush train.

The incident happened just outside Glenavy on Thursday.

The woman was not seriously hurt.

However, Translink spokesman Ciaran Rogan said such attacks had potentially serious consequences.

"Attacks like these are all too common and really potentially there could be serious injuries," he said.

"I would appeal to anyone who could influence the situation to call a halt to such attacks.

"Passengers are always shocked and disappointed when something like this happens

"People travelling to and from work, to and from relatives and the last thing someone needs is a window to be broken on top of them."
