Grandad held at knifepoint
Welleslie Robinson and his grandson
The gang took cash and some presents
A Nottingham pensioner and his six-year-old grandson were held at knifepoint just after Christmas while a gang ransacked the pensioner's home.

The incident happened in the Forest Fields area of Nottingham when 76-year-old Welleslie Robinson went to answer a knock at the door at 0230 GMT.

He was confronted by three men who forced him back into his house. Two of the burglars were carrying knives and the third man had what seemed to be a handgun.

The pensioner and the boy were held by one of the gang in a bedroom, police said.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire police said: "The raider demanded cash and while that was happening his associates made a search of the house."

She added the gang stole an undisclosed quantity of cash and Christmas presents.

The incident happened on December 28, but police have only just released the details because specialist officers were called in to interview the boy.

The spokeswoman added that neither the grandfather or the boy, who had been spending the night at the house, was injured during the incident.

But she said that both of them had been left very shaken.
