Pakistan's president to visit China
The President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf will fly to China on his way to the forthcoming regional summit in Nepal in order to avoid an airspace ban imposed by India. Officials said Mr Musharraf will be holding talks with Chinese leaders on Thursday before flying on to Kathmandu to attend the seven-nation summit on Friday. China has called on the two countries to exercise restraint following escalating tension. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service
