Chile cautions Argentina over crisis
The president of Chile, Ricardo Lagos, has urged Argentina's leaders to resolve their political crisis democratically. Mr Lagos, who first came to prominence as an opponent of the administration of General Augusto Pinochet, said he and other regional leaders were in close contact to monitor events in Argentina. He said that the Rio Group of 19 Latin American nations, set up in 1986, was calling on Argentine political leaders to provide a solution which upheld the standards required by the Argentine people.
