Maoist rebels killed in Nepal
The authorities in Nepal say 11 Maoist rebels have been killed in fresh clashes with government forces.

Nine of the suspected guerillas died during fighting in the western district of Banke.

The other fatalities occured in the towns of Gorkha and Kailali.

The government launched a military operation last month after the rebels broke a ceasefire and withdrew from peace talks aimed at resolving the six-year-old insurgency.
