Youth violence grips Paris suburb

Police in France say they have clashed with youths for a fifth consecutive night in a Paris suburb, following the shooting of a young man during a bank robbery.

They say five cars were set alight overnight in Creteil, but that the level of violence had dropped overall.

The unrest follows the death on Wednesday of a local youth Djelloul Belhaouas, who was shot by police while trying to rob a bank on the capital's northern outskirts.

Since then, more than 60 cars have been burned and 15 people have been arrested.
