Twenty miners killed in China
An explosion in a coal mine in China has killed about 20miners and injured more than 20 others.
An official at the mine, in the eastern province of Jiangxi, said the blast was triggered by a build-up of gas, which brought down the roof in one of the shafts. Correspondents say Chinese mines are the most dangerous in the world, with thousands of miners killed each year. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
