Senate fumigation resumes
Experts in Washington have made another attempt to decontaminate a Senate office building, more than two months after it was closed because of anthrax.
Fumigation workers have been pumping chlorine dioxide gas through the ventilation and air conditioning system of the nine-story Hart office block. It is the third attempt to clean the building, which provides offices for 50 senators. The complex was closed in mid-October after a letter containing anthrax spores was delivered to the Senate majority leader, Tom Daschle. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
