Extradition over market trader murder
Costa del Sol
Mr Crossling was detained at Benalmadena near Malaga
A man wanted in connection with a murder on Teesside has been arrested by armed detectives on the Costa del Sol.

Jonathan Crossling, 36, faces extradition proceedings by Cleveland Police after being detained on Thursday at a resort near Malaga.

It is alleged he took part in an armed robbery in Middlesbrough last August, after which father-of-six Kalvant Singh was found dead.

Another man, Michael Moody, received serious head injuries in the incident at a house in Errol Street last August.

Court appearances

Three men have already appeared at Teesside Crown Court and pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Singh.

Thomas Petch, 22, from Dunsdale near Guisborough, Jason Crossling, 32, and George Romaro Coleman, 41, both from Middlesbrough, also denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent to another man, 54-year-old Mr Moody.

A 33-year-old woman has also been arrested at Liverpool Airport in connection with the continuing police investigation.

A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "In relation to the 36-year-old man, a formal extradition application will be processed through the Spanish authorities."

Mr Crossling was seen by an investigating judge at the resort of Torremolinos who ordered his case to be sent to the National Criminal Court in Madrid which handles all extradition requests.
