Two dead after collision with tree
Police were following the car before it hit a tree
Two young people have been killed after a car that was being followed by a police patrol vehicle collided with a tree in west Wales.

A girl aged 17 and a man aged about 20, who were travelling in the Renault car, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another young man has been taken to the West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen with serious injuries.

The crash happened at about 2245GMT on Friday on the A475 near Lampeter.

A spokesman for Dyfed Powys Police said it is understood that all three people come from the Lampeter area.

The road has been closed and traffic diversions have been put in place either side of the village of Pentre Bach.

The Police Complaints Authority, which will oversee the investigation into the incident, has already been informed.
