Bihar minister resigns over murder case
A junior minister in the eastern Indian state of Bihar has resigned after being named as a suspect in a murder case. The Minister of State for Rural Development, Sanjay Singh, is one of those accused of involvement in the killing of eight people by unidentified gunmen in the Sheikhpura district of central Bihar two days ago. Mr Singh has denied the allegations. Correspondents say the Sheikhpura district is notorious for caste-related killings. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
