Four hurt in nightclub shooting
West Midlands Police HQ
Investigations are continuing at the scene
Four people were injured after a gunman opened fire outside a nightclub in Birmingham.

The incident happened after a disturbance in the foyer of the La Mustiques nightclub in Aston spilled out on to the road on Thursday night.

Investigations are continuing into the shooting which happened in Church Road at about 2230 GMT.

Detective Chief Inspector Lawrence Dyer from Midlands Police said: "At this early stage it is unclear exactly what happened and what the motive for the shootings was."

Head injury

All four of the victims are in hospital but their injuries are not life threatening.

Detectives say a woman in her 20s has a head injury, although it is not yet clear exactly what caused it.

A 19-year-old man was shot in leg and groin, and a 23-year-old man and another 19-year-old man were both hit in the leg.

The male victims were all from Birmingham.

There were about 200 people in the club at the time of the shootings and detectives have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

Church Road and Thimblemill Lane in Aston have both been closed while investigations at the scene continue.
