Two questioned over stabbing death
Torrington death scene
The man was found in a flat with serious stab wounds
Two people are being questioned by police in Devon in connection with a fatal stabbing on Boxing Day.

Officers were called to Burwood Mews in Torrington following reports of a disturbance at about 2100 GMT on Wednesday.

They discovered the body of a 48-year-old man with serious stab wounds in a flat.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Loud music

The man's identity has not been released, but he is thought to be local.

The Mews is a group of barns that have been converted into 10 flats which are let out.

A neighbour who called the police said there had been loud music and shouting coming from the flat for at least seven hours.

Another neighbour ran over to the flat to find out what was happening.

Suspects questioned

A 17-year-old youth and a 41-year-old man from Torrington were arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday.

They were questioned and held by police overnight.

Police are to continue questioning the men on Friday.

The police are also following up leads in other parts of Torrington.
