Blood found at missing man's home
Cambridgeshire Constabulary
Police say that a "substantial amount" of blood has been found at the home of a Cambridgeshire man who has been missing for two weeks.

An investigation was launched by Cambridgeshire Police after they discovered that Patrick Moore's home in Orton Goldhay, Peterborough, had been burgled.

On Thursday, a police spokeswoman said that during searches of the house blood was found on a bed in an upstairs bedroom.

She added: "Forensic experts state that the amount of blood found would indicate someone had suffered a very serious, potentially fatal, injury."

Detective Superintendent David Hankins said: "We still do not know exactly what happened in Patrick's house and how the blood came to be where it was, although we do know that it belonged to Patrick.

"We do not know for certain if he is dead or not but due to the sheer amount of blood loss, we believe there is a very real chance he is dead."

Three men and two women are on police bail after being arrested and released without charge on suspicion of Mr Moore's murder.
