Teenager held over rapes
Police siren
Both women were abducted in Wolverhampton
A teenager has been arrested in connection with the abduction and rape of two young women in the West Midlands.

The 17-year-old is being questioned about assaults on a 21-year-old woman and on a 15-year-old girl.

He was arrested at his home in Dudley in a joint operation between Staffordshire and West Midlands Police forces.

Both victims were seized in Wolverhampton city centre and taken to Himley Lane, in Himley, near Wombourne, Staffordshire where they were raped.

Secluded spot

The 21-year-old woman was forced into a car containing four men in Birmingham New Road, Wolverhampton in the early hours of 13 October.

She was then raped at the secluded spot by three of the men both inside and outside the car before being left there.

The 15-year-old girl is said to have voluntarily got into a car with a single male driver in the same area of Woverhampton at about 12.30am on Monday.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said the youth was being detained at Cannock police station and would be questioned by detectives on Wednesday.
