| Russia's Prosecutor General, Vladimir Ustinov, who is leading the investigation into the causes of the disaster, was among those who observed one minute's silence for the dead. A salvage team is to lift the Kursk 17 metres above sea level and pump it free of water before moving inside. The Kursk sank after an explosion on board while on exercise in the Barents Sea in August 2000. All its 118 crew members died. The BBC's Rob Parsons reports. |
