British soldier dies in Oman

The serviceman has not been named
A British soldier taking part in the training exercise in Oman has died following a road accident, the Ministry of Defence has said.

The serviceman was travelling in a vehicle with other soldiers on Tuesday in the northern area where the training was taking place.

The other soldiers are not thought to have been seriously injured.

The soldier has not yet been named.

More than 20,000 armed forces personnel are currently taking part in the exercise in the Gulf state - the largest in 15 years.
