UN says hospital destroyed in Herat
The US has admitted some bombs have gone astray
The number of Afghan civilians killed by US bombs has surpassed the death toll for the September 11 terror attacks, according to a study by an American academic.
Nearly 3,800 Afghans died between October 7 and December 19, according to research conducted by University of New Hampshire Professor Marc Herold places the number. Professor Herold has been gathering data on civilian casualties since October 7 by culling information from news agencies, major newspapers and first hand accounts. His report, which places the death toll at 3767. lists the number of casualites, location, type of weapon and source of information. |
