Man arrested over Bradford killing
The teenager was shot as he sat in the garage forecourt
A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a teenager in Bradford.
Police in West Yorkshire said a 40-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the death of Yasser Hussain Nazir. The 16-year-old was shot as he sat in a car on a petrol station forecourt on 5 September. The man, from the Keighley area of Bradford, West Yorkshire, was released on police bail to return to a police station in the city at a later date. Woman injured Yasser, of Chatsworth Street, Keighley, was shot twice in the head as he sat in the driver's seat of a white Vauxhall Astra at the garage in Haworth Road. Two passengers in the car, aged 17 and 22, were uninjured and were interviewed by police as witnesses. Detectives believe the Astra was followed into the garage by a car which pulled up alongside it and from which the shots were fired. A 46-year-old woman suffered minor injuries from flying glass and was treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary. |
